13. Build a Simple Wall Bar Shelf For Extra Seating
Next, measure and cut two pieces of birch plywood to fit the length and width of each cleat, which will serve as the top and bottom surfaces of the bar.
Mount these surfaces onto the 2×4 cleats. If your bar bends around a corner, smooth out the edge to avoid sharp corners.
Cover the front of the bar with a flexible strip of plywood, using wood glue and nails for attachment. For rounded corners, clamps might be needed to hold the plywood until it’s securely nailed.
Optionally, install molding along the wall to conceal any gaps where the bar meets the wall, especially if the walls are not perfectly straight.
Finish by filling any gaps or nail holes with wood filler, sand the surface smooth, and apply a coat of white semi-gloss paint for a sleek finish.

12. Nicolas’ DIY Modern Bar Shelf: How to Build Your Own
Nicolas first encountered our pipes and fittings building system a few months back when he watched tinktube’s CEO, Julien, pitch the company on the Canadian TV show “Dans L’oeil du dragon.”
Intrigued by the concept, Nicolas decided to try building his own DIY bar shelf using the system—and was immediately convinced of its merits. His enthusiasm was so great that he even proposed investing in the company!
What Nicolas found appealing was the system’s versatility, suitable for both seasoned DIY enthusiasts and beginners alike.
With just a few pipes, fittings, and a couple of tools—all available online—anyone can embark on creating a wide array of projects ranging from shelves to pergolas, planters, tables, solar panels, and sports racks, just to name a few.
The highlight is that the constructions are robust and lasting, thanks to the steel composition of the tubes and connectors.
Moreover, all projects are designed to be disassembled, allowing the materials to be repurposed for new creations without any damage. Curious about how Nicolas built his DIY bar shelf? Continue reading to find out more.

11. I Built Some Floating Shelves for my Home Shelf Bar
Revamp your home bar by creating your own DIY floating shelves! I crafted stylish and functional shelves using specialized floating shelf hardware.
These modern shelves add a sleek look and provide essential storage, ideal for showcasing your favorite spirits and bar accessories. Enhance your entertainment area with this simple DIY project!

10. Floating Shelves for the Home Bar Nook – Stylish DIY Bar Shelf Idea
We absolutely enjoy having draft beer at home—it’s so much more affordable! The only issue was our need for additional storage.
Our kitchen is incredibly small, and even though we’re planning a renovation to expand it slightly, it will still lack sufficient storage space. Moreover, it just seems logical to keep the bar glasses in glass bar shelves.
I was quite fond of the aesthetic and struggled to make a decision on how to enhance it. Ultimately, I opted for some simple floating shelves on the sides. And you know what? I really do like how it turned out!

9. How to Build DIY Bar Wooden Shelves with Plans
If you’ve recently completed the framing of your home bar and are considering how to incorporate DIY bar shelves, this guide is for you. It includes free plans, a cut list for your bar shelves, and tips on how to securely attach the shelves to your bar.
Start by deciding on the design and the placement of your shelves. It’s important to consider the height of the items you plan to store, such as glasses, bottles, and baskets.
In our case, we chose to install shelving on just one side of the bar. This decision was made to ensure enough space for a couple of people to stand behind the bar comfortably, while still providing ample storage.
Remember, adding too much shelving can make the back of a bar feel cramped, so plan your layout carefully. Once you have a clear idea of your shelving design and location, you can begin building the frame for the shelves.

8. Outdoor Folding Rustic Bar Shelf Idea
This Outdoor Folding Bar Shelf is incredibly handy for those times when you need a temporary spot to set down food and drinks. It’s simple to assemble with just a few basic supplies!
From the moment we first saw our house, we knew the exterior needed some TLC. Built in 1937, the back wall displays a patchwork of moss green shades, and wire pipes are visible throughout. I’ve even spotted a field mouse or two darting around.
A coat of paint could easily freshen it up, but life had other plans.
Shortly after we moved in, we welcomed our first child, and since then, sprucing up the back wall has been repeatedly postponed—currently second on our home improvement list, right after installing a faucet in the bathtub.
Really, who installs a tub without a faucet!?

7. DIY Pipe Vintage Bar Shelf
I was really drawn to this design, particularly the wine glass rack.
It served as an excellent starting point, but I made several modifications to better suit my vision: I removed the wheels, added a third shelf, altered the pipe layout, expanded the wine rack capacity, and opted not to use glue.
I often begin projects with just a rough idea in mind (and some doodles on paper), allowing the materials I find to influence the development of the project.
My preference for a hands-on approach over extensive planning quickly manifested during a trip to Home Depot.
To prevent common issues like forgetting a necessary piece or facing design incompatibilities, I experimented with prototyping various designs right in the plumbing aisle until I found one that worked.
Although I quickly assembled a frame in the store, reconstructing the pipe frame at home proved challenging in terms of maintaining its sturdiness—it felt akin to solving a puzzle.
I can’t recall the exact sequence of assembly, but it involved creating several large pipe components and fitting them together in a specific order. This process demanded logical thinking and considerable trial and error.
Additionally, removing the stickers from the pipes was a painstaking task that consumed a couple of hours.
For the top shelf’s hanging wine rack, I needed to use some math to ensure the dimensions were correct, but assembling it wasn’t too difficult.
I chose to use nails instead of glue for attaching the T-like racks to the boards that rest on the pipes, as nails provide a sense of security and are virtually invisible once in place.

6. Add an Outdoor Bar to your Back Patio
The lovely weather in Colorado has us gearing up for a season full of summer enjoyment, and naturally, we’ve begun revamping our back patio.
I started by giving the entire patio a thorough cleaning, planting new flowers in the pots, and rearranging the furniture. After stepping back, I noticed a large, empty area that looked rather dull.
This was where we had previously stored two containers—one for Rex’s BBQ accessories and another for the kids’ outdoor toys. With those moved, the space seemed bare and in need of a lift.
So, we decided the perfect addition would be a DIY Outdoor Patio Bar. We thought it would not only fill the space beautifully but also enhance our outdoor living area, making it even more inviting for the fun-filled months ahead.

5. How To Build A DIY Wall-Mounted Wood Bar Cabinet
Hey everyone! If you’re on the hunt for some clever storage solutions that don’t overcrowd your space but still pack a punch in terms of functionality and style, then you’ll love this DIY wall-mounted bar cabinet!
This project is ideal for beginners—it’s essentially a simple box with a hinged front, and you can make it from just a single sheet of 3/4-inch plywood.
For added convenience and easier handling, consider using the smaller 2×4 ft. project panels, which are much more manageable and easier to transport than an 8-foot full sheet.
Plus, Home Depot offers a handy “ship-to-store” option, allowing you to order these panels online and have them shipped free of charge to your local store. It really doesn’t get more convenient than this—unless the cabinet could build itself, right?

4. DIY Live Edge Breakfast Floating Bar Shelf
Over time, I’ve noticed that certain elements consistently appear in my home projects, and floating shelves are a prime example. We’ve actually incorporated them into every one of our homes!
Initially, the idea of installing floating shelves seemed daunting because I wanted to ensure all my thrifted finds and cherished trinkets were securely displayed.
However, when I installed floating shelves in the kitchen of my Sage Home, I was delighted with the outcome and surprised by how straightforward the process was.
Now, thanks to National Hardware, installing floating shelves has become even simpler. Their Floating Shelf Kit includes everything needed for the project, from brackets to the necessary hardware for hanging.
This kit takes the guesswork out of the installation process, making it accessible and hassle-free.

3. DIY Wall Bar Cabinet – Perfect Home Bar Idea
Friends, I’m so excited to share this build with you!
I’ve been dreaming of a wall-mounted bar cabinet for my dining room for quite some time—a discreet spot to store our spirits when entertaining, without having the entire collection on display every day.
With no space for a freestanding cabinet, a wall-mounted option was clearly the best choice.
This project was a fantastic collaboration with Jen Woodhouse, and I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome.
Jen crafted the plans, which you can check out HERE, and I’ve put together a detailed build tutorial for you! I really hope you love it as much as I do!

2. DIY Corner Bar Cabinet – Stylish Bar Idea
Transforming a piece of inherited furniture into something functional and personal can be a deeply satisfying project. In this post, I’ll share how I repurposed my grandparents’ old corner cabinet into a chic and functional bar cabinet.
After my grandmother passed away, my brother and I were fortunate to inherit several pieces of their furniture. Among these were their dining room table, buffet, and a corner curio cabinet.
While the style of these pieces isn’t exactly what I would choose off a showroom floor, their sentimental value as family heirlooms is irreplaceable.
However, I’ve always been stumped by the corner curio cabinet. It seemed to lack a specific purpose and always felt like an afterthought in any room it was placed.
Additionally, its dark color never quite appealed to me, yet I was hesitant to paint it entirely. For years, I considered lining the back with linen to lighten it up but never committed to the idea.
Stay tuned as I walk you through how I finally turned this underused piece into a beloved and functional part of my home, preserving its history while giving it new life as a bar cabinet.

1. DIY Bar Shelf Idea: Turn Wood Shelves into a Chic Mini Bar
Although we aren’t major drinkers, we’ve accumulated a pretty extensive collection of barware and drink accessories over the years.
With our kitchen lacking additional storage space, I repurposed some shelves that were destined for Goodwill into a mini side bar in our dining room. This not only provided a practical solution but also a stylish way to display our collection in wet bar.
Let me walk you through how I achieved this transformation!
